HD03 - Security Cadet Leo Alden

== Thankyou for the wonderful comments and I will try harder at the smaller portions you pointed out and I appreciate you for being nit-picky, it will hopefully only serve to make my writing skills better.

As for the answers, they are as follows;

A) If I were serving as a security officer aboard the U.S.S. Aquila, my Chain of Command would be; Department Head- CoS Lieutenant Commander Shione Kurasa, First Officer- Commander Beno Velaul, Commanding Officer- Captain Daniel Brooks and then the CinC, Fleet Admiral T'Mana.

B) The first captain of the U.S.S. Copernicus was Captain Ysiadina Lanael.

C) The only Information I can find relating to the year 2412 is that Captain Gabriel Archer (Ret.) was made the CO of the U.S.S. Intrepid and Captain Mattiana (Ret.) was made the CO of the U.S.S Yeager.
Hopefully the last answer is what you were looking for but I was informed during my Character Bio phase that the timeline/dates were shifted slightly and are still being corrected throughout the whole site. Please see Post #3.

For Ships I would like to be posted to, they are;
U.S.S. Yeager
U.S.S Artemis
U.S.S. Titania

Now to continue the story. ==

== Leo Alden - Cadet Security Officer ==

Leo stopped moving forwards and lent against the wall, his phaser still aimed down the hallway as Moran moved past him and also stopped just a few meters ahead. He checked the path behind them, double checking that no one was about to sneak up on them before moving off again. Leo lowered his phaser slightly as he walked past Moran, and took a good look at everything before him as he came to another stop.

As Moran set off again, continuing their leapfrog movements down the corridor, the lights greatly dimmed before being illuminated by the pulsing red glow that signified a Red Alert, Moran paused and looked at Leo for a brief moment before heading forwards once more.

“Hey, what’s that up head on the left.” Moran said aloud.

As Leo took point, he pressed himself against the right wall whilst still moving closer to the first signs of a disturbance, Leo saw the door had been badly damaged. So badly in fact that both halves of the door were no longer in their runners and were jammed open. As Leo inched closer, he started to look into the room but it was too dark in there to see anything clearly from his current position and then he faltered.

Think, Ginge, think. Stop. Breathe. Take stock of the situation. Act accordingly.

Leo’s thoughts steadied as quickly as they started racing and he steeled himself. Moving over to the left wall and up to the doors, pressing their backs to the wall, he spoke calmly, knowing that he had to be in control of this moment.

“Nice and easy, I’ll cover left and you right. Ready Moran?”

With a nod from his comrade, Leo ducked a little as he stepped towards the door and pivoted on one foot and aimed his phaser into the darkness. Moran stepped around Leo and into the doorway almost simultaneously, but stood a little behind Leo, covering the opposite side of the room. A cursory glance around the dimly lit room didn’t reveal much, but what little red light came in through the door, showed outlines of storage containers but he couldn’t be sure.

“Look down. There’s footprints leading into and down the hallway. What should we do now?” Moran said quietly

Nothing seemed to move or react to their sudden appearance at the doorway but Leo couldn’t take that chance so he took a deep breath and replied just as quietly but making sure he could be heard over the whirring and clicking of the broken doors mechanisms.

“Ok. Check this room out, just in case anything else is still in here and I'll follow the prints. Shout if you need me”

Nodding to Moran, Leo took a step backwards from the door and looked down at what Moran had pointed out.

Wet footprints. Why wet?

Holding the pistol out in front of him, Leo walked cautiously further down the corridor. Nothing else so far seemed to be damaged or disturbed as he continued following the prints towards Section 7.

Moran and Leo continued to move through the corridor of Section 6, moving past one another in turn, watching everything around them as they did so and making sure they didn’t aim their phasers at each other as they moved.

So far so good. Hopefully there's nothing here.

Stepping forwards, Moran felt uneasy, his thoughts were starting to haunt him, his nerves were screaming, he was glad that Leo took charge and then he froze as he jumped out of his skin, the sound of the Red Alert scaring Moran half to death.
He looked over his shoulder and looked at Leo, before finishing his forward movement.

How is he so calm? Can he tell I don’t like this? Oh God, he knows I'm nervous, he knows I'm not confident enough to do this

The pulse of the red light lit the now dimmed hall before them and Moran stopped, leaning on the right wall of the corridor and noticed that the wall on the left, just ahead of them, didn’t look quite right.

“Hey, what’s that up head on the left.”

Leo glided past him and rested against the wall in front of himself, trying to get a better look Moran supposed before he moved up and closed the gap between them. The doors were badly damaged, wedged open even, and the mechanics of the door could be heard, still trying to close the door that was no longer able to.

Did something break in? Or did it break out?

He watched his teammate inch forward a little and pause for a moment before crossing to the opposite wall and sidle up to the broken doorway. He watched the man take a breath before he realised he had been spoken to.

“Nice and easy, I’ll cover left and you right. Ready Moran?”

Moran nervously nodded in response and not a moment passed before he watched Leo pivot into the doorway and raise his phaser. Without thinking, he followed suit and stepped past Leo, stopping just the other side of him and aimed into the darkness that hung in the room. It was way too dark to see anything but nothing attacked them as they stood there in the door, but he did notice that he had slipped slightly as he stepped around Leo. Looking down, he saw why.

“Look down. There’s footprints leading into and down the hallway. What should we do now?” He said quietly

He wasn’t sure if he spoke too quietly, but his mind eased when his teammate responded in kind.

“Ok. Check this room out, just in case anything else is still in here and I'll follow the prints. Shout if you need me” Leo replied.

OK! OK! CHECK THE ROOM OUT! ALONE!

Before Moran had settled his screaming thoughts, Leo had stepped out of the room and began following the trail of prints down the hall.

Sure, I’ll scream while being attacked, cause you’ll hear that! He thought both sarcastically and nervously.

Taking a big gulp of air rather than breathing deeply, Moran tried to replicate the composure his companion had shown, although with very little effect on his nerves. Raising his phaser, aiming into the darkness of the room, some storage containers revealed their outline as the red light pulsed out in the hallway.

“If anyone’s in here, show yourself. I am armed” He shouted.

Stepping into the dark, he aimed all around, trying to cover all the bases as he slowly took step after step into the room.

== Gm Input - Does Moran find anything/anyone else in the dark room and as Leo continues towards Section 7, are there any other disturbances? or does he find the culprit(s) who left the wet footprints/find more breadcrumbs to follow ==
