Nira had been reflecting in the transitioning between Geronimo and Titania. She recalled, while waiting for her runabout, her transport, she practiced her weaponry, long overdue practice at the range, another thing she never could do well on the Geronimo. She was surprised that she had felt better after time at the range. Same with practicing with her weapons. She felt better after what she felt, and felt confident in her abilities for the first time in a long time.

Visiting a counselor at the starbase, she discovered it was known as recoil therapy. So she kept practicing at the range. Practiced with her inherited jambiya...and then, decided to take up knife practice a notch by having a second jambiya. It's difficult, but the focus helped her. And not just in her transition.

Now, back in reality, she realized how calm she was, regardless that she felt uneasy, the second Luna class starship she was on, the first being the Callisto.

Sothrick had arrived on his fathers transport. He wanted to take the transport with some of the Geronimo crew but his father had not seen him and insisted that the Gargoyle be sent to collect his son. He even enticed the Commander with having his wife aboard for the trip as well.

It was still too short of a trip.

As he stepped onto the base he tugged at the jacket of his uniform. His Gold uniform. He was back in Gold again.
His time as a Captain was short lived. He would be lying if he didn't say he was saddened by the news that he was needed as Chief of Security again.

As he stepped in the room he immediately saw Nira. He knew this would be a transition for her as well just as difficult. He knew she worked hard to become a Chief of Security and she certainly had her eye on being a First Officer.
He was taking it on himself to make sure she was ready when those chairs were offered again.

"Commander, I hope you had a good flight." He said as he smoothed out his jacket. "So what do you know of the Titania?" He asked

Nira saw Sothrick approaching and talking to her. Now that she had gotten a look properly at her orders and that she was no longer a Chief of Security, she was of two reactions simultaneously, but within nanoseconds, the more reasonable reaction overrode her angry reaction, now that she spent enough time training.

"Well, all I know about the Titania is that it's a Luna class starship," she said. "It's given me memories of the last Luna class I served on, the Callisto. Unfortunately, I wasn't on it long before it was destroyed...two months, I believe? Allah forbid the Titania gets destroyed two months or so after my transfer; that happens, I'll know I'm a jinx to the class."

She sighed, then faced Sothrick and began to inquire ponderously. "I know we had just arrived, but I feel we should talk about how we can work on leading the Security department. I mean, we are both commanders of sorts, even if I'm a lieutenant commander. Should we split our shifts, exchange times we can be on the bridge, take command of two halves of the Security department? It's just that...no offense, I had assumed I was going to be Chief of Security. However, I was in such a hurry in my transition, I failed to notice you were coming aboard and therefore being Chief of Security. I know it'll mean I'll be your deputy again, but now that I'm a lieutenant commander, should I be more like...co-chief? Split leading duties between the two of us, as I said?"

There were a lot of times that Keti was confused, none more than down time in an unfamiliar environment. Even if he wanted to work on something, getting to know his surroundings were more important. He knew that there were parts of the crew that were in the same ship, it was some comfort.

"Commanders it's great to see you again." He said with a friendly greeting, it was his way of being approachable. They also seemed to have the opposite problem that he was, Science didn't have a someone incharge. "Commanders both of you have lead I am not sure how many missions, even when everything went sideways I always knew that my superiors would make some kind of plan. Any advice you can give to someone about leading in the Starfleet manner?" There were many different styles and he needed to find his style.

"Well, all I know about the Titania is that it's a Luna class starship," she said. "It's given me memories of the last Luna class I served on, the Callisto. Unfortunately, I wasn't on it long before it was destroyed...two months, I believe? Allah forbid the Titania gets destroyed two months or so after my transfer; that happens, I'll know I'm a jinx to the class." Gave Said.

Sothrick took a deep breath. "Well Commander, it may be bad luck to have us both aboard. My track record for having ships destroyed while on duty is way worse." He said giving a rare joke but delivered as dry as always.

Said quickly seemed to not be in the mood for joking as she turned towards her former Captain.

"I know we had just arrived, but I feel we should talk about how we can work on leading the Security department. I mean, we are both commanders of sorts, even if I'm a lieutenant commander. Should we split our shifts, exchange times we can be on the bridge, take command of two halves of the Security department? He took another breath. He looked down as she spoke to the young officer. He understood her frustration. Perhaps more than anyone.

"Commander, First you are still a Lieutenant Commander. You have not lost your rank and your skills are not lost on me. You were not demoted. Starfleet just has a different need for us both. I understand your frustration perhaps better than anyone.

However, I look at this as a better chance to properly prepare you to become a better Chief of Security and I am sure  it wont take you long to become a First Officer. I feel things moved quickly this will give you a better chance to work with me.

Before we go making any big plans let me talk with this Captain. I have not worked with this one yet. They may have their own ideas. We, you and I , will also need to meet the rest of our department and then we will have time to sit and talk about, titles and expectations a little more..." The Vulcan gave and seemed he was going to say more but the door slid open to reveal a familiar face.

"Now, however is not that moment." He said just as Keti stepped up.

"Ensign Keti, I am pleased to see you." He gave back as the young officer greeted them.

"Commanders both of you have lead, I am not sure how many missions, even when everything went sideways I always knew that my superiors would make some kind of plan. Any advice you can give to someone about leading in the Starfleet manner?"

Sothrick was proud of the young officer almost father like he found the odd emotional connection a little strange for him.

"In a, Starfleet, manner. Well the as far as starfleet it is a matter of knowing and utilizing the processes that they have set in place. It is managing the people that can be a bit... tricky. You have to remember to find and utilize each of your teams strength while knowing how to compliment their weaknesses. Every person is a bit different so you have to know what works for them. The key thing is to rely on those above you where you can. Even though I am not your commanding officer any more I am still here if you need anything from advice or assistance to just what humans call, a chance to... complain." He gave.

Nira raised an eyebrow so high, she'd almost look like a Vulcan. She didn't care if Sothrick was joking, either. He understood her frustration better than anyone, he did? She wished she could turn to him, but the problem was, he tended to take too long with something. Combined with his past schedule as a commanding officer, it was another reason she never turned to him, not even for counseling, despite that he wanted her to turn to him when she had problems.

Gravesworld had driven that point home in particular; it took him much too long to respond to her when she was in a mob situation, or particularly to keep the queue to waiting for clean water from dissolving into an anarchic mob, and amidst the time it took, she grew increasingly concerned...to put it mildly. Even when he said no, even when he said he had too few security personnel to back her up, the fact that he took so long to respond while a hostile situation was simmering, it marred Nira's trust in Sothrick. While she and her only other fellow security officer, Jez, had gotten out unscathed, whenever Nira saw Sothrick in passing after Gravesworld, the image of what could have happened on Gravesworld crossed her mind: Nira and Jez, buried in a lynch mob, overwhelmed, before dispersing and showing their broken, bleeding bodies from being mob-beaten. And then her thinking: Would you have wanted the blood of two lynched officers in your hands if that had happened?

Oh, Nira had known about mob situations, but having never come up against a mob before was perturbing. The fact that she only had Jez to assist her and protect the medical personnel and Gravesworld authorities had kept making Nira think that they would've had no chance if the mob elected to attack. Even if they didn't, Nira was still disturbed. Despite her training to improve, she had the occasional nightmare of being drowned in a rabid mob and beaten to death.

Still, despite his pacing, he did have excellent wisdom. Now that she figured it properly, perhaps now that he was no longer a Captain, he would probably have a lot less on his plate...at least, she hoped...

Talking to the Titania's captain, that she can understand - Please don't take too long with that, Nira thought, very inwardly, determined to keep her thoughts as inward as possible, again, because of Gravesworld. And then, the fact that they had to meet their department...well, Nira could see what the department was like on the Titania herself if she could, and she would've asked Sothrick on that, but then he went over to talk to Jukish. Maybe it was best she'd wait for the time being, settle in...

The fact of seeing the department, and the prospect of meeting a larger department, was what made Nira look forward to seeing them. A bigger ship meant bigger personnel, especially if Nira had to confront a mob in the future.

She then looked around. Where was the welcoming committee from the Titania's crew? She was puzzled. She had expected to see somebody come meet them...

Keir was among the last of the transfers to arrive. It had taken hir some time to arrange for the woman to whom s/he was engaged to also transfer over to the Titania.

As s/he and Samantha entered they noticed Commanders Sothrick and Said engaged in what looked like an involved conversation and s/he did not want to eavesdrop on what looked like a proprietary subject so, accompanied by Samantha; Keir crossed the room and the two sat beside a rather bored looking Science officer.

Ensign Keti had been an integral part of hir investigation into what was causing the poisoning of the Gravesworld colonists, and rather than snoop they sat with the Ensign. Being as he was Bajoran they were careful not to address him as Jukish.

"Good morning, Keti it would seem we are about to join a new crew. Even though we didn't have any advance notice or involvement in the decommissioning of the Geronimo, I did want to apologize for what must have felt like having, how is it that humans put it, Sam."

Grinning, the tall brunette sitting next to the Commander , leaned in, answering for hir. "Getting the rug pulled out from under you, and yes even the command crew knew nothing about it til we all did, and here we are separated from the others."

Keir grinned at Samantha and continued; "I am trying to get some of my NCO's sent over with me but will need to speak with Captain Fields first. Have you spoken with any of the crew? Is there a reason we are all being kept in this room?"

Keti would sense that both seemed as puzzled as he likely was.

Nira had noticed Keir and Samantha coming as well. She curled her lip a little at Keir, and Samantha...well, she was among the security officers of Geronimo. And Nira had wanted her among a security group of reinforcements that never showed up. And Keir...well, she had mixed feelings of the chief engineer briefly becoming First Officer of the Geronimo.

She approached and said with the most formality possible, and with a hard edge in her voice, "Hello, Samantha." Then she looked at Keir. She arrived in time for Keir to bring up the question, and it was true that Nira was puzzled, now that Keir mentioned it.

"I was thinking the same thing, Commander," Nira said. "Why are we still here, waiting in the shuttlebay? Why are we getting any greeting from the crew of the Titania?"

Even though there was something to be said about the old ways, but an absence of violence that is preferable method. Also why he was a wise leader, the kind of leader Keti wants to be. Also most people wouldn't be able to handle something like that, but he did with grace. Alot of people would be quick to fists if that happened to them, but Officer training helps curb them. "That might be true right now Sir, but I do believe you will be one again someday."

It was a shame that his Command came to an end so soon, but there will be other opportunities. The big pain was just getting to know more people, the fortunate part was he already knew a few. With them Keti felt like his shell that was developed was going to Crack, and after it breaks it is going to stay that way.

After hearing the delightful voice of Keir, Keti had a notable smile. "Good morning to you as well." His voice did have some joy to it. "It's a shame that the Geronimo was decompressioned like that, you two will get a chance to rise again." He thought about the second question. "They might be organizing some place for us to go, it might not be so easy putting two Crews together." It was also the name of the last leader of the Apache people, a great leader, warrior and medicine man. While reading about the man, Keti could identify with him. The circumstances were similar in a way, and that's when him being there make more sense. "I hope for us the greatest success, I just wonder how much longer it's going to be before we meet anyone." He wasn't sure if this was normal or not

A crew announcement greeted the new crew arriving on runabouts and transports:

[All new arriving personnel. Welcome to Titania. Your baggage will moved to quarters. In the meantime, please make your way to the crew lounge.]

The answer to everyone's questions came shortly, they were going to meet in the crew lounge. A place he never really spent much time in anywhere, perhaps spending some time in this one could get some results. He didn't have to drink to get to know people, but being there could give him something that he was missing.

"Co." He stopped right there and elected to put out his arm. "Care for an escort to the crew lounge?" He was attempting to be an Officer and a gentleman. He was also extending a friendly gesture in a stressful time for everyone, now that the isolation was over it should provide some relief. This was something that he brought from the old world, when they were not being combative they were very hospitable. For some reason he didn't use that part of himself as much as he should, but it wasn't too late to change.

Nira saw Jukish extend and arm and she smiled warmly. She was ready to virtually bolt to the lounge, but how could she resist an arm extended? Despite that she still had her bag - and she figured she can leave it at the entrance of the lounge and somebody will take it to her quarters - she didn't care. She took Jukish's arm.

"Why, I'd be glad to," Nira said with a giggle.

Keir smiled at Keti's gallantry, as s/he and Samantha each took one. "Lead on Ensign it is good to meet an officer with such excellent manners.

Is this a common courtesy in your culture, Keti? It certainly speaks well of your culture which I am ashamed to admit I know very little of.

Perhaps you could regale Samantha and I with some stories from your homeworld. It certainly has been a part of many Federation wide events. Your people certainly sound like they are a brave and resourceful culture."

The only thing better than having one lady on his arm was two, and he really enjoyed himself. The three of them were going to show up in style, and they would make a grand entrance. A great way to start their new journey, turning heads in style. "Commander Sothrick let's show them you can't keep a great crew down, you two will send again I fully believe it."

"Lovly Ladies you made me the luckiest and happiest man alive, now let's show our new crew what style looks like." He was happy to be the escort of two wonderfully talented women, both of them were wonderful leaders that he could learn from. Commander Sothrick was going to be Captain one day, and Keti wanted to be there when he did.

Sothrick nodded as Kier and her SO and young security crewman stepped in.

"Thank you Ensign, I would be lying if I didn't say that I hope so as well" He gave.

"Greeting Commander, Crewman." He gave solemnly. to the pair as they approached.

He listened to the growing group and he was about to say that surely their chief of boat or security would be in soon but instead a voice came over the comms.

He eyeballed Keti as he offered his arm to the ladies.
He then followed the group to the crew lounge
