Now for the fun part! I don't get to do this often, but for players who are returning to the site or who have demonstrated their writing abilities elsewhere, we offer the "Opt-Out Test". This skips the Academy lessons we use to determine player skill level, ability to navigate the wiki, etc, and jumps you right to the end. As you meet these requirements, I will be administering this test for you.
It can be a little involved, so my recommendation is to save the test as a Word Document, work on it, and submit it in its entirety when complete.

EXAM BEGINS
This test will help you to learn the navigation of Federation Space, as well as test your ability to search for answers to common and not so common questions. Everything on this test can be found on the Federation Space wiki.
For the General Question part of the test (“who” and “what” questions), all you have to do is give the answer. For the Site Navigation portion of the test (“where” questions), you must give the answers as well as the page link where the answer can be found.
Lastly, there is a small essay section which you must complete before you graduate. In some ways, this is the most important part of the exam. You must demonstrate the ability to use what you have learned about our posting formats; third person past-tense perspective, italics for thought, bolding for emphasis, double spacing, proper spelling and grammar and open ended posting.
General Questions:
1. What is contained in a Standard Medkit?
2. What could be the possible effects of Dark Matter on normal space?
3. Where can you find important news for all site members?
4. Who, besides the Captain, can give direction in a plotline or subplot?
5. Who currently commands the USS Artemis?
6. What is the highest security rating in Starfleet?
7. What does Section 4.2. of the Federation Space Constitution cover?
8. List all player Starships currently used on Federation Space.
9. Describe the “Sulu Loop”
10. Where will you find Federation Space’s "Technobabble" list?
11. Where are the rank abbreviations located?
12. In what way is a Binary Star a twin?
13. How many points do you need for promotion to Lieutenant?
14. What type of star is the star in the Sol System?
15. Write an example of your introductory post when reporting aboard your assigned ship. This post must contain all standard formatting. This is an exercise in creative writing and we need to see what your writing abilities are like. 3-4 line posts are not acceptable and will be considered failing. We are looking for 3-4 good length paragraphs.==
