Shortly after leaving Quarters both headed for the promenade with many great shops, they came from all over including Earth. On their travels they found what looked to be an old fashioned malt shops, the decorations looked like it came from the fifties. It was all nicely decorated and the people looked like they came from that era, the ice cream was served exactly the same way as before.
It didn't take Reyna long to figure out what kind of Ice cream that she wanted, but it took Beno a little more thought. No matter how much Beno thought about it, she couldn't come up with an answer. "Why is it that the simple answers are the ones I have the hardest time with?" Beno asked but had no one in mind to answer.
Reyna piped up. "Mom will have the tin roof sundae, it has everything important." She said while giggling a little. Both of them took a seat while waiting for their Ice cream, and in that time Reyna seen a few of her friends go by and wave. Beno was enjoying every minute of it, especially the delight that Reyna had on her face.
"I would like to talk about the cookies and milk you brought up earlier." Beno said. "Yes you are right they are not the healthiest thing you can eat, but they are enjoyable. As a grown up if we don't take the time to do something or eat something we enjoy, we age faster so a thirty year old can look fifty. It's an important thing to keep in mind eventually we need things like that to unwind, and enjoy the simpler things in life." It was enough of a message for now, it was taking away from the fun.
As Beno was enjoying her ice cream Reyna was right, it was really good. It did bring up some childhood memories for her, they were not about ice cream just simple pleasures. The ice cream melted a little with some nice flavored milk in the bowl, it added an extra layer of enjoyment. Beno was enjoying hers slowly while Reyna enjoyed hers a little too quickly. Left a bit of a mess on her face that Beno carefully wiped up with the napkin, carefully getting off the ice cream. "After this I think we should go try on some dress shopping, there is a shop here that gives you the full experience. You can have some juice while I enjoy a little wine." The shop wasn't too far away, and Beno really wanted to surprise Alex.
"I am sure between the two of us we can surprise your dad a little more." This was a new feeling for Beno, usually she knew exactly what she wanted when she wanted. Today was a bit of a mystery, there was something else she meant to pick up for a while. Now she has a reason to do so.
