Hearing about mini golf made Beno remember the few miniature golf courses she went to, never played a single round but did remember the windmills. Why they thought it was a good idea to go into them to go in them, Beno didn't have the first clue. Thankfully they were never really caught, came close a couple of times but they managed to get dressed first. Beno ordered a double scotch, she felt like something really healthy because she really needed it at the time. A spinach salad, goat cheese, dried cranberries, shaved almonds, topped with halibut.
The waitress brought them the drinks almost handing Beno the wrong drink, until there was a flash of recognition. "Some things never change." Handed Beno the scotch, and Alex his drink after. "The French Quarter hasn't been the same without you, how did you get on all those floats for Mardi Gras?"
Beno blushed a little. "I don't actually remember how, but it might have involved borrowing a costume that was a size and half too small.. I still get invites to go back." Beno remembered those days fondly. The costumes were skin tight, and left little room for imagination. They were equally as colorful as grand, she preferred to have large angel wings "Those days are behind me now, especially like those days in Vegas."
The waitress nodded. "It had to end some time, cute daughter looks like you." She realized that Alex was being ignored. "Your food should be ready in a few minutes, this one is a real firecracker."
Beno laughed a little before taking a sip of scotch. "I might have had a better time on Earth than most Cadets, I experienced as much as I could. Earth had some of the greatest parties, I met Carley at one of them. Turns out she followed me there, I got her out of the shell she got me to think more in depth about things." One day she might have to take Alex to one of those adventures. Beno never thought much about how Carley and her got started, just that it started on day one of being a Cadet. "I am kind of mixed about going to the French Quarter again, I think there might be pictures on the wall still." Beno theorized it was best to have a great time while the only true responsibility was to get good grades, and show up.
